Christmas dress up day :)

Today is our Christmas dress up day. I didnt dress up but other girls did and they look great! Steph was in the parade and won with her group Lauren Chloe and Ruth. They got a selection box to share between them :L
We had to bring in two euro for the care of the aged :)

Tech Keyrings :D

This week we also did practical classes in Technology. We are making keyrings ,theyre really small so everyone is almost finished. Next week were going to start on a clock. I did tech for junior cert so i can help people when they need it :)

Homec :D

This week we started cooking in homec. Ms Mcardle brought in the ingredients for us to make cookies. As we didnt know we were cooking ,we had no fillings for thm so we added vanilla essence for flavour. They turned out really nice in the end.
Hopefully we will get to cook more after Christmas :)

Pilates :)

Seeing as we have finished our dancing ,we have now started pilates. We will be doing this for three weeks and then back to normal PE. I really like it so far ,i think that it is really relaxing. The whole point of pilates is to give you a good posture and tone up your muscles. The woman who teaches us is called Angela.
Im looking forward to having it again next week :)

Work Experience Uno :)

Last week we had our first week of work experience :) 
I went off to The Village at Lyons for the week. I had a really good time. I helped out with Clodagh McKenna for some of the week which was fun. I also helped out in the kitchen of the cafe. Everybody was so nice and it was sad to leave at the end of the week. I woke up this morning and felt like i was going to work again.
When im older i either want to do something with food like a chef or be a primary school teacher. For my second week of work experience,in march, im going to my primary school to see what both careers would be like. Should be fun :D

Dancing :D

We started dancing this week instead of P.E , we have only done a double class and its already so much fun :) Our teacher is called Sharon ,shes really nice and is a great teacher. I think that we're learning a dance to do on TY night.
The other TY class are doing pilates while we dance. In three weeks we will swap and do pilates for three weeks :D

Halloween dress up day :D

Today is our Halloween dress up day at school :) I didnt dress up :L But most people did a great job ,Niamh is a cat :D Karen is a pirate ,Niamh is chuckie ,Orlaigh is the jigsaw from saw and Steph is wearing her onesy just cos she is THE BOMB :D
all the girls did a great job ,next year I'm definitely going to dress up :)

ACCORD :)

A woman called Margaret came to talk to our class yesterday :) She was from Accord. She talked to us about relationships ,how we should hold in our anger sometimes and basically told us the birds and the bees story. She also talked to us about how boys function ,what goes on inside their minds and what She was really good and everyone really enojoyed the talk. :D

Mini Company ,A new idea :D

Our last idea was working out to be very expensive. We had to start thinking about a new idea. Our new idea ,hopefully ,is going to be a product which holds your glasses on a little ring. The ring is attached to a clip which you can put on your top. There is also a suction cup so you can stick it to your fridge or computer so you wont misplace yout specs ;D

Naas ,round two :)

We went to Naas again on Wednesday the 20th of October. Orlaigh talked to us about more detailed things this time. She wanted to know whether we had a prototype made so she really understood what we were doing. She also told us ways to advertise our buisness.  

Colour me beautiful :D

Two fashion consultants came to our school on Friday the 15th October. They put us into groups by the colour of our hair ,eyes and skin tone. I was in the soft group because i have quite sallow skin ,brown eyes and blonde hair. The two women told us what colour clothes we should wear and also what kinds of makeup too. Our colours were greens (khaki ,moss and emerald) ,browns (tan ,camel and beige) and peachy pink colours like coral ,orange and rosey pink.
I really enjoyed this workshop as now when I go shopping I know what colours to get that will really suit my skin tone :D

Mini company talk number two :)

Today we had another mini company talk with a man from NUI maynooth. First he talked to us about the course he lecturers in the college. He then talked to all of our groups individually. He told us that our idea was great but it would be very expensive to make. Instead of having electrical components in our tracking device ,we will now have a solar panel on top of a suction cup. Also on this ,there will be a spring with a ball on top. The ball will have a light in it powered by the solar panel. During the day you can find your car with whatever design you have on top of the spring. When it it dark you will be able to see the light to help you find it.
 Hopefully this will work out and we will make a profit ;)

Peter McVerry :)

The Peter McVerry organisation contacted our school and asked if we would be interested in doing some backpacking for them. Myself and about 11 others volunteered. The saturday after we all met up in tesco at about half past one :)
We backpacked untill half five. The Peter McVerry organisation contacted us and said that we raised 1375 euro and 69 cent altogether! :D

Mini Company Talk :)

Orlaigh from the Kildare Enterprise Board came to talk to us on Monday again. This time she told us what she thought of all of our ideas. My group had planned to do watches with a difference. We were going to buy watch faces and attach elastics with beads. This would give the effect of a bracelet but one of the beads would tell the time :)
Orlaigh said that our idea wasn't very innotive. My group is now going to try and come up with a device that you stick to your car. We want to have a remote that you can attach to your keys as well. If you have trouble finding your car in large car parks, you just have to press the button on the remote. When you do this the device on your car will either light up or make a noise.
Hopefully it will work out.

Technologhy Project :)

In technology we're doing a formula one project. We got put into groups and have to come up with a design for a formula one car. Our car will have most of these things but willl be a different design :)

FUN WALK :)

For our fun walk this year we didnt dress up. Each year was given a colour and we had to wear that colour tshirts. TY was yellow :) We did a dance for the judges and then went on the walk. Me ,Karen and Niamh stopped at the traffic lights to make sure evryone was going the right way. When everyone passed us we did the walk ourselves. The monday after we found out that our class won :D Our tutor won best tutor! Our prize was sweets to share with the class.

GEOGRAPHY :)

For my Geography project ,I am researching two countries from the second world that I would like to visit. The first country I am looking at is China! I have never really thought of China as a holiday destination for me. Ever since starting this project ,I think that maybe I could see myself there in the future. There is so much interesting sites to see like the Great Wall :) Also the terrocotta soldiers would be interesting to get a photo with. Being able to say that i have actually seen all of these places will be great. 
For the second country from the second world I was thinking of researching somewhere like Russia or Mongolia :)

Projects can actually be fun :)

On Monday we went to Naas for a Mini Company workshop. It was in the Moat Theatre; we sat down and were introduced to a woman called Orlaigh. She talked to us about things like how to set up our own business, what the market is looking for and how we should start very soon because if we start too late we wont make a lot of money. We really did learn a lot and I now feel confident about setting up a business with my group.
   We are also preparing for the BT young scientist exhibition. Me and my group are experimenting how dirty money is. Our teacher thinks that is a good idea too so she'll be helping us along the way :). We have written a one page proposal that will decide whether we get in or not. Hopefully we will get accepted.
Geography is another project that we are doing. It’s not due till Christmas time but we're starting to work on it now. There are three girls in my group and between us we have to choose six countries. Two from the first world, two from the second world and two from the third world. Right now I am working on China from the second world :)
All this doesn't sound like fun but I’m actually enjoying all of these projects!

CARLINGFORD :D

Carlingford was amazing. Even though we only went for two days,it was a lot of fun. When we got there ,we settled in our rooms and got ready to go out and do outdoor obstacle courses. I was in a room with twelve beds. All my friends were with me so it was great. we all brought sweets with us and when we put them all together,we filled a whole drawer. 
After out outdoor activities we came back for lunch and then got ready for our water activities. We got into wetsuits and then went Canadian canoeing, all i have to say is PAAAADDDDLLLLEEEEEE! After we did peer jumping,then we went home for dinner. We got changed and  went out again. We were brought  up a "high enough" mountain. Plus it was raining which didn't make it any easier. When we got back we got Chinese and ate it in front of the fire to warm up. After a while we all went to our rooms. We sat up for a good while eating our sweets and talking :D . 
The next morning we had breakfast ,got dressed and went to do orienteering. It was fun ,but as we were tired and it was really hot we didn't enjoy it as much. When we got back to the center we got changed and cleaned our rooms. We said goodbye to all the staff and went to out bus :( we all wanted to stay longer!
Carlingford was amazing :D id love to go again. 

Blogger.com finally works :D

TY has been great so far. We had a social development day with a man called Austin Dunne. The main goal he wanted usto reach was to gain MEGA confidence :) We got put into groups all depending on our personalities. Mine was the green group. We are mediators. I went home early so i never really found out the meaning of my group. We are going to Carlingford next week. Were so excited :D Ms. R and Ms. O'C are coming with us so it shoud be fun.
